The Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM) is based on the AGM-84 Harpoon missile, but uses an AGM-65 seeker head. It utilizes an upgraded AGM-62 Walleye video datalink to enable to pilot to control the seeker and a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver updates the mid-course inertial guidance system. In the terminal phase the IR seeker is activated to allow the pilot to select the exact aim point for the missile.
